In AgencyBloc, you can store phone numbers for clients, leads, agents, and other important contacts in your book of business. If you want to call someone, you have to pick up the phone and dial the number.
If you use a third-party VoIP app, you could start calls in AgencyBloc from the contact’s record, but you will need to set up a few things on your computer first. Learn more in this article.

How to make calls in AgencyBloc
Many VoIP providers have a desktop app (like RingCentral) while others are browser-based. The VoIP provider you’re using will determine how you can make calls from your computer (and in AgencyBloc) and what you’ll need to consider for setup.
If you’re using a desktop version of your VoIP app, you can set it to be the default app for telephone links on your computer (TEL protocols). By doing this, you can make device calls from Agent, Carrier, Group, and Individual records.

If you use a browser window to access your VoIP app, you may need to leverage a browser extension. Some VoIP providers (such as RingCentral) have a browser extension that exposes phone numbers on websites as telephone links. If you download the extension and install it in your browser, it will turn phone numbers into clickable telephone links.
When you select the link, you'll have an option to launch a call from your browser.
The extension allows you to launch calls from any page that has a phone number. Learn how to install your VoIP provider’s browser extension.
How to make your VoIP app the default calling application
To change the default calling application in your computer, you may need to request permissions from the IT person at your office. If you have the appropriate permissions, see below for more instructions or contact the IT person at your office for assistance.
Note: This will only work if your VoIP provider has a desktop app. If the VoIP app is browser-based, see these instructions.
Also, you may have to allow click-to-dial in your VoIP app before you can make it the default application in your computer.
Windows 10 or 11 OS
If your computer is running Windows 10 or 11 OS, Skype is typically set as the default calling application. If you want to use the device call function in AgencyBloc, you will need to go into your computer’s system settings and change the default calling app protocol to your VoIP app.
- On the Start menu, select Settings > Apps > Default apps.
- Click “Choose default apps by protocol” and scroll down to TEL.
- Click the currently selected app and select your VoIP app from the menu.

If you have a Mac computer, Facetime is usually the default calling application. To change this, you will need to have a desktop version of your VoIP app installed and following these instructions:
- Start the Facetime application.
- Go to FaceTime > Preferences and select Settings.
- In the Settings tab, scroll down the bottom and change the default for calls to your VoIP app.
How to install your VoIP provider’s browser extension
The steps for installation will vary depending on your web browser. But in general, all you will need to do is:
- Open your browser’s extension store.
- See examples of popular browsers and links to their extension stores.
- Search for your VoIP provider’s extension.
- Please keep in mind that your VoIP provider may have an extension for specific browsers only. If you can’t find an extension for your VoIP, it may not have one. In which case, you can always try making your VoIP the default calling application on your computer.
- Download and install your VoIP provider’s extension.
- Once installed, you will have to log in to VoIP account. Refresh the browser window or tab that has AgencyBloc open. Then, when you hover over a phone number, you will typically see an option to launch a call from your browser.
Examples of browser extension stores
A VoIP app’s extensions may be available in specific browsers but not others. You can check and see if your VoIP provider has an extension by searching your browser’s extension store.
