This article covers how to view, send, and manage text messages in the AMS+ Talk & Text mobile app.

View your messages
Tap the Messages tab at the bottom of the app to see your text message conversations. Conversations are grouped by contact.
From this view, you can:
- Tap All or Unread to filter between all conversations or only those with unread messages.
- See at a glance which conversations have unread messages — unread threads are visually distinct from read ones.
Read a conversation
Tap a conversation to open the message thread with that contact. The thread shows the full history of messages sent and received between you and that contact.
Send a text message
- Tap the Messages tab at the bottom of the app.
- Tap the conversation for the contact you want to message, or search for a contact using the search bar.
- Type your message in the text field at the bottom of the conversation.
- Tap the send button to deliver the message.
Note: Sent and received messages sync with AMS+ and will appear in the contact's communication history on the web.
Manage read and unread messages
Opening a conversation marks it as read. You can also manually control read and unread status using the three-dot menu next to any inbound message:
- Tap Mark as Unread to flag a message to follow up on later.
- Tap Mark as Read to mark a message as read without opening it.
Messages from a contact page
You can also access message history from a contact's Contact Info page. Tap the three-dot menu next to any contact in the Recents or Voicemail tabs and select View Contact, then navigate to the messages section of their profile.
From there, you can view message history and send a new message to that contact directly.
Note: Text messaging in AMS+ Talk & Text requires that your agency has the AMS+ texting feature active.
