Overview
When a recipient marks an email message as spam or an email bounces, you can locate the recipient. Even though you might know who marked an email as spam, we don’t recommend following up with those subscribers.
IN THIS ARTICLE
In Email Marketing
To locate a recipient who marked an email as spam or generated a hard bounce:
- Go to Email Marketing
- Locate and go to the specific email campaign
- You can do this by either selecting the campaign from the highest bounce & spam graph or locating it under the saved campaigns tab.
- Select the email tab
- Select Recipients area then set the dropdown to bounces or spam

Note: If you viewing a drip campaign with multiple emails, you'll need to click the “1 of ..” dropdown box to view each separate email drip of the campaign.
- You’re done.
- Here you will see which recipients marked an email as spam or it bounced.
In Automated Workflow
To locate a recipient who marked an email as spam or generated a hard bounce:
- Go to Automated Workflow
- Locate and go to the specific workflow
- You can do this by either selecting the workflow from the highest bounce & spam graph or locating it under the saved workflows tab.
- When viewing the workflow, Select the email tab
- Select Recipients area then set the dropdown to bounces or spam
- You’re done.
- Here you will see which recipients marked an email as spam or it bounced.
On a Contact record
If a Contact has reported a message as spam, their opt-flag will set to yes and you’ll see the details of when the spam was reported.
Common questions
Why aren’t my emails being received?
If your email isn't being marked as spam, chances are the person doesn't have a valid, up-to-date email address in AMS+, but you can fix that!
Use reports to download lists of your agent and individual records. Review and update any record that doesn't have an email address.
