In this article, you'll learn how to use a recipe to build an Enhanced Automated Workflow in AMS+. Recipes are prebuilt templates that come pre-configured with a trigger, conditions, and an action — so you can start with a working foundation and customize from there instead of building from scratch.
Requirements
- Automated Workflow must be activated in your agency's AMS+ account.
- Only the Account Owner can activate it. Learn more.
- You must be logged into AMS+ as an Agency User.
- You must be assigned to a Security Group with the Manage Automated Workflow permission.
Available recipes
The following recipes are available in Enhanced Automated Workflow:
- Send Birthday Email
- Lead Form Follow Up
- Policy Renewal Reminder
- Policy App Submit Notification
- Agent License Expiration Reminder
Use a recipe
- Go to Automated Workflow and select Browse Recipes.
- Select the recipe you want to use.
Review the pre-configured trigger, conditions, and action to understand what the recipe does before customizing it.
- Customize the recipe to fit your agency's needs.
At minimum, review the And If conditions and the email content in the Then action. Some recipes require additional setup before they'll work correctly — see the notes below.
- Enter a name for the workflow.
- Select Save & Turn On to activate it, or Save to keep it as a draft.
What you may still need to configure
Most recipes work out of the box, but some require you to fill in details that are specific to your agency before the workflow is ready.
The Lead Form Follow Up recipe always requires you to select your specific lead form in the And If step. The recipe can't know which lead form your agency uses, so this step can't be pre-filled. The workflow won't run correctly until you've made that selection.
For other recipes, it's worth reviewing the conditions and actions to make sure they reflect how your agency operates — for example, confirming the right servicing agents are included or that the email content fits your communication style.
Tip: If a recipe is close to what you need but not quite right, you can save it as a draft, make your changes, and then turn it on. You can also select Save & Turn On and edit it later if needed.
