How to find Individuals for migration
For this migration, you will not be uploading or importing any spreadsheets or running any reports. All you will need to do is create an Advanced Search of Individuals that qualify as leads, save the search, and run the migration tool.
- Go to Individual Advanced Search.
- Apply filters to target only Individual Records that meet your criteria for being classified as leads.
- Unless you intend to migrate all your Individual Records, we suggest using at least 1-2 filters. Without any filters, the search will retrieve ALL Individual Records.
- Run the search.
- If you’re satisfied with the results, save the search.
- We suggest naming the saved search as "Individual Lead Migration" or something similar. This will make it easy for others to understand the content or purpose of the saved search with a quick glance.
How to perform the migration
Note: Sales Records created by this utility will trigger any applicable Sales Automated Workflows.
If you haven’t already:
- Prepare a list of Individuals for migration in Advanced Search. Utilize the search filters to make sure you include the right ones.
- To prevent servicing agent data from being lost during migration:
- Go to Settings > Security Groups and review each Security Group. Make sure the "View" Sales Enablement permission is enabled for the groups that you want to see and edit Sales Records.
- Go to Settings > Users > Servicing and review each user's Linked Agent. All servicing agents in your Individual Advanced Search must be assigned to the appropriate user as a Linked Agent.
Only users with the “Manage Data & Custom Fields” Administrative permission are allowed to access and use the Lead Migration Utility.
- Go to Settings.
- Navigate to the Servicing > Data Utilities page and select the ‘Lead Migration Utility’ option.
- On the Lead Migration Utility page, select your Saved Search.
- Before continuing, keep in mind that all migrated Individuals will be deleted from your account.
- When ready, select the ‘Submit’ button.
- AMS+ will start migrating Individuals one record at a time.
Note: AMS+ processes one migration at a time. If you start a migration, you must wait for it to finish before you can start another.
Once a migration is started, you can navigate away from the Lead Migration Utility page and continue about your business in AMS+. The migration will continue to run in the background until it finishes.
New Sales Records will appear in your Record Type list as they are ready and available. By default, your account will start with one Record Type of “Lead”. If you have more than one Record Type, AMS+ will use the Record Type marked as “Default” in your Sales settings.
How to revert a migration
You can effectively undo a migration with Lead Migration Utility's revert function. Please note, a revert will delete all Sales Records that were created from the initial migration and restore deleted Individual Records.
Note: We recommend reverting a migration as soon as you identify an error to prevent potential data loss and discrepancies from users accessing and editing recently migrated records.
To perform a revert:
- Go to the Settings > Servicing > Data Utilities > Lead Migration Utility page. In the migration history, find the migration entry you want to revert and select the 'Revert' button.
- A message will appear, asking for confirmation. If you still want to go ahead, confirm the message. In the table, the migration entry's status will change from COMPLETE to REVERTING. You may navigate away from the page while it's in process.
- Once finished, the migration entry's status will change to REVERTED.
What data is included/excluded during migration
During the migration process, AMS+ will transfer the Individual’s data to its new Sales Record counterpart. Please note that it’s not exactly a 1:1 transfer. Certain Individual data fields are not available on Sales Records and so will not carry over.

Common questions
Is your user not seeing a Sales Record they should have access to?
Go to Settings > Users > Sales and review the user's Record Type permissions. Make sure they have the View and Edit permissions for the Record Types that you migrated the Individual Records into.
