This article explains how to install and use Outlook Email Sync to sync emails from the desktop app version of Microsoft Outlook to AMS+.
Requirements
- You must have the desktop app version of Microsoft Outlook installed on your computer. Refer to the system requirements section of this article for supported operating systems and Outlook app versions.
- You must have a work or personal email account (for example, Google/Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, or IMAP) set up in the desktop app version of Outlook.
- You must be logged into AMS+ as an Agency User or Agent CRM User.
About Outlook Email Sync
Outlook Email Sync is an integration for Windows-based desktop versions of Microsoft Outlook.
You can sync Outlook emails to AMS+:
- As Activities, which create assignable to-dos and reminders with the original message file attached
- As emails, which create copies of the original message and attachments
Synced items automatically associate with matching contact records.
Note: Emails can’t be directly synced to Sales Records. However, if an email is synced as an Activity and remains unassociated, the Activity can be manually associated with a Sales Record.
System requirements
This integration is not compatible with Outlook’s web-based version.
- Supported operating systems:

- Windows 8.1
- Windows 10
- Supported Outlook versions:
- Outlook 2010
- Outlook 2013
- Outlook 2016
Outlook versions from the Microsoft Store or Microsoft 365 are typically compatible. Due to ongoing Microsoft updates, functionality may differ from Outlook 2010, 2013, or 2016.
Identify your Outlook version
- Open your Microsoft Outlook desktop app.
- In Outlook, select File.
- Select Office Account.
- Review the Product Information section.
Install Outlook Email Sync
- In AMS+, go to My Account > Email & Calendar > Outlook Email Sync and download the Outlook Sync Add-In.
- Close your Microsoft Outlook desktop app if it's running.
- Run and install the downloaded Outlook Sync Add-In file on your computer.
When Outlook reopens, an AgencyBloc tab appears in the ribbon.
- In AMS+, copy your Add-In Key from the Outlook Email Sync page.
- In Outlook, open the Add-In settings and enter your AMS+ username and Add-In Key in the AgencyBloc Username and Outlook Sync Key fields.
- Review credentials and select the Save button to activate the integration.

Manage Outlook Email Sync
You manage Outlook Email Sync in both AMS+ and the Outlook desktop app.
Update the Add-In (Outlook desktop)
When an update is available, install it through the Outlook Add-In in the desktop version of Microsoft Outlook to maintain functionality.
Issue a new Add-In Key (AMS+ and Outlook desktop)
You may need to issue a new Add-In Key if the Add-In stops authenticating, if you are installing it on a new device, or if you need to reset the connection between Outlook and AMS+.
If you generate a new Add-In Key in AMS+, the Add-In temporarily deactivates until the new key is entered in Outlook.
To reactivate:
- In AMS+, go to My Account > Email & Calendar > Outlook Email Sync and copy the new Add-In Key.
- In your Outlook desktop app, open the AgencyBloc tab.
- Open the Add-In settings.
- Enter your AMS+ username and the new Add-In Key in the AgencyBloc Username and Outlook Sync Key fields.
- Check credentials and save.
Configure sync settings
Before syncing emails:
- Go to My Account > Email & Calendar > Outlook Email Sync.
- Review your sync settings.
Sync as Activity
When syncing an Outlook email as an Activity:
- A status and due date are assigned.
- The status tracks the Activity’s progress.
- The due date triggers follow-up reminders.
- If the status is set to "Complete", the Activity does not receive a due date.
Ensure these settings match your workflow preferences before syncing.
Association settings
By default, AMS+ automatically associates synced Activities and emails with matching contact records.
You can update association settings on the Outlook Email Sync page in AMS+.
Troubleshoot installation issues
Many things can cause the Add-In to become disabled. Upgrading your Outlook version, anti-virus software, and Windows updates are just a few examples.
If the Outlook Sync Add-In ever disappears from your Microsoft Outlook desktop app:
- Go to Settings > Apps & Features on your computer.
- Look for AgencyBloc Outlook Sync Add-In.
If the Add-In is listed
It may be disabled.
Re-enable the Add-In (Outlook desktop):
- In Outlook, select File and then Options.
- In the Outlook’s Options menu, select Add-Ins.
Scroll down to the bottom of the "Add-ins" screen until you see a "Manage:" field.
- In the Manage field, ensure COM Add-ins is selected, and then select the Go… button.
The COM Add-ins window will pop up.
- In the COM Add-Ins window:
- If the AgencyBloc Add-In appears, select the checkbox and select OK.
- If it doesn’t appear, use the alternative installation method.
If the Add-In still does not function after re-enabling, contact the Support Team.
If the Add-In is not listed
It may not have installed correctly.
Alternative installation method (Outlook desktop):
- In Outlook, select File, and then Options.
- In Outlook’s Options menu, select Add-Ins.
Scroll down to the bottom of the "Add-ins" screen until you see a "Manage:" field.
- Ensure COM Add-ins is selected in the Manage field, and then select the Go… button.
The COM Add-ins window will pop up.
- In the COM Add-Ins window, select the Add… button.
The Add Add-in file browser will open.
- In the Add Add-in file browser, make sure All Files is selected in the dropdown menu next to the File name field. Then, select "App Data" in the file browser address bar.
- Select the folder named Local and then the folder named AgencyBloc, Inc.
- Select the folder named AgencyBloc Outlook Sync. Locate and select the file named adxloader.dll.
- Open the adxloader.dll file.
- Once completed, you’ll see the COM-adds pop-up window again. Highlight AgencyBlocOutlook2010_2016 and choose OK.
The AgencyBloc tab should appear within your Outlook.
- Go to the Add-In settings and enter your credentials.
Credentials include your AMS+ username and the Add-In Key.
- Check your credentials again and save to activate the integration.

Deactivating integration
If you’re no longer using Outlook Email Sync, you can uninstall the Add-In from the computer where it is installed.
- When you deactivate Outlook Email Sync:
- The AgencyBloc tab is removed from the Outlook desktop application.
- Emails will no longer sync from the Outlook desktop app to AMS+.
- Previously synced emails and Activities remain in AMS+.
- No data is deleted from AMS+.
You can reinstall the Add-In later using your existing Add-In Key or generate a new one if needed.
Uninstall the Add-In:
- Close your Microsoft Outlook desktop app.
- Go to Start > Settings > Apps & Features.
- Locate AgencyBloc Outlook Sync.
- Select Uninstall.
