This article explains the behavior of the compose email icon found on Agent Records and Individual Records in AMS+.
About the Compose email icon
On Agent Records and Individual Records, a Compose email icon appears next to the Email field on the record's Detail tab.
Selecting this icon opens a new message in your device's default email application with the record's email address pre-populated.
This is a standard mailto link. AMS+ hands off to your email application and is not involved in composing, sending, or tracking the message. Emails sent this way are not recorded in AMS+. Any replies from the recipient will also not appear in AMS+.
What to expect when you select the icon
If your device has a default email application configured, it will open automatically with a new message addressed to the record's email address.
If no default email application is configured, your device will either prompt you to set one up or nothing will happen. This is determined by your device and, in some cases, your organization's IT settings. For assistance configuring a default email application, contact your IT department or device administrator.
