Note for accounts using Sales Records: This article includes a Legacy components section with additional information that applies to your account.
This article explains how to change the default VoIP phone number used to send SMS text messages in AMS+. If your agency has multiple VoIP phone numbers, you can select which number appears as the sender when you send text messages.
For more on SMS texting in AMS+, including training and related resources, see this feature overview.
Requirements
- Your agency's AMS+ account must have at least two VoIP phone numbers. Learn more.
- You must be logged into AMS+ as an Agency User or Agent CRM User.
Set your SMS phone number
Note: The SMS phone number can't display a different caller ID. Due to FCC regulations, the SMS number must be associated with a purchased or ported VoIP phone number.
- Go to My Account > Phone > Caller ID.
- In the SMS Phone Number section, select the dropdown list, and select the VoIP phone number you want to use for SMS messages.
The list only shows VoIP phone numbers available to you. Toll-free numbers and numbers your administrator assigned to other users don't appear.
- Select the Save button.
Your selected VoIP phone number will now be used as your default SMS phone number when sending text messages in AMS+.
To go back to your agency's default SMS phone number, select Use Account Default in the dropdown list, and then select Save.
If you haven't selected a number, AMS+ sends your text messages from your agency's default SMS phone number.
Note: This setting doesn't apply to Enhanced Automated Workflow texting actions (which are currently available to beta testing participants only). Those always send from the account's default number, regardless of any user's personal SMS phone number.
Bulk Rx Collect requests
For Rx Collect requests sent individually, your SMS phone number setting applies as usual. For Rx Collect requests sent in bulk, AMS+ uses the SMS phone number set on the user account linked to each record's Servicing Agent instead, not necessarily the person sending the request. If that user hasn't chosen a number, the request uses your agency's default SMS phone number.
Legacy components
The following content applies only to accounts still using Sales Records. If you're unsure whether this applies to you, check your subscription package on the Subscription page. Accounts on Enhanced Records will show a package type that includes "+ Enhanced Records" (e.g., Accelerate + Enhanced Records). If your package does not include "+ Enhanced Records," this section applies to you.
Legacy components in this section:
- Sales Enablement Visible permission — accounts using Sales Records
Sales Enablement Visible permission
To access My Account > Phone > Caller ID, you must be assigned to a Security Group with the Sales Enablement Visible permission.
