AMS+ allows you to send and receive SMS text messages with leads, clients, and agents. To use SMS messaging, you must have a VoIP phone number configured for texting. This article explains how to purchase or assign a phone number and configure required settings for SMS messaging.

Requirements
- You must be logged into AMS+ as an Agency User.
- You must be assigned to a Security Group with the Sales Enablement Visible and Manage Users permissions.
Purchase or assign a phone number for SMS
- Go to My Agency Settings.
- Find and open the SMS Setup or Phone Dialer & Call Queues setting.
The option shown depends on your subscription package.
Or- Navigate to SMS Setup > Phone Numbers or Phone Dialer & Call Queues > Phone Numbers and purchase a phone number.
Note: Toll-free numbers (1-800) can’t be used for SMS messaging due to current regulations.

The following settings help ensure SMS compliance and proper delivery.
Set your time zone
You can change your time zone on the My Account > My Info tab.
- Go to My Account > My Info.
- Configure the permitted hours for sending SMS messages.
Set allowable SMS sending times
- Go to My Account > Account.
- Configure the permitted hours for sending SMS messages.
Configure caller ID
AMS+ SMS messaging follows FCC regulations.
- Masked caller IDs are not permitted.
- The caller ID must match the provider sending the message.
