Note for accounts using Sales Records: This article includes a Legacy components section with additional information that applies to your account.
This article explains how to change the default VoIP phone number used to send SMS text messages in AMS+. If your agency has multiple VoIP phone numbers, you can select which number appears as the sender when you send text messages.
For more on SMS texting in AMS+, including training and related resources, see this feature overview.
Requirements
- Your agency's AMS+ account must have at least two VoIP phone numbers. Learn more.
- You must be logged into AMS+ as an Agency User or Agent CRM User.
Set your SMS phone number
Note: The SMS phone number can't display a different caller ID. Due to FCC regulations, the SMS number must be associated with a purchased or ported VoIP phone number.
- Go to My Account > Phone > Caller ID.
- In the SMS Phone Number section, select the dropdown list, and select the VoIP phone number you want to use for SMS messages.
Only VoIP phone numbers are available for selection.
- Select the Save button.
Your selected VoIP phone number will now be used as your default SMS phone number when sending text messages in AMS+.
