Add a cell phone number to your account notifications
To forward SMS replies to your cell phone, you will need to add your cell phone number to your profile’s notification settings. Once added and saved, responses to SMS texts sent to your assigned Sales Records and Individual Records will be forwarded to your cell phone number.
Please note that forwarded messages are copies of replies. If you reply to a forwarded message, your text will be sent to your AMS+ phone number, not the original recipient's.
To get started with text forwarding:
- Select the ‘Profile’ icon in the corner of your screen and go to My Account > Notifications.
- In the Email Notifications section, go to the Notifications tab and enable the ‘SMS replies to your cell phone’ setting.
- Make sure the box is checked.
- Add your cell phone number to the ‘Cell Phone #’ field.
- Do NOT enter a cell number that is already linked to a record in AMS+! Doing so could cause a texting loop and trigger the cell carrier's spam filters, blocking all texts to that number.
- Select the 'SAVE UPDATE' button.
Common questions
If someone texts my AMS+ number and I have text forwarding set up, will replies be forwarded to my cell phone?
Yes. However, the sender’s cell phone number must be on an existing Sales Record or Individual Record assigned to you for the texts to be forwarded to your cell phone number. This ensures that only relevant messages from associated records are forwarded to your cell phone.
I set up text forwarded. Why am I not receiving any forwarded messages?
A number of things could be happening. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:
- Check to see if the cell phone number you added to the My Account > Notifications > Cell Phone # field is being used anywhere else in AMS+. If it is, remove it because this can cause a texting loop and trigger the cell carrier's spam filters, blocking all texts to that number.
- Make sure you are assigned to the record that is sending you text messages.
Can I reply to forwarded text messages on my own device?
No. You will need to reply in AMS+.
