Outlook Email Sync is an integration with Windows-based desktop versions of Microsoft Outlook. Download our Microsoft Outlook Add-In to sync your Outlook emails to AMS+.
Sync your Outlook emails as activities to create assignable to-dos and reminders. Sync as emails to create copies that include the original message and attachments, which anyone at your agency can access and review. Synced activities and emails will automatically associate to contact records in AMS+.

System requirements
This integration is not compatible with Outlook’s web-based version.
We developed Outlook Email Sync for Windows-based desktop versions of Microsoft Outlook. Here are the supported OS and Outlook requirements:
- Supported OS: Windows 8, 8.1, and 10
- Supported Outlook versions: 2010, 2013, and 2016
Outlook versions from the Microsoft Store or Office 365 are typically compatible. Keep in mind, due to continuous updates provided by Microsoft, your experience in the Microsoft Store or Office 365 versions may differ from Outlook 2010, 2013, or 2016.
To find out which version of Outlook you have:
- Open Outlook.
- In Outlook, find and select “File” to open a menu.
- In the menu, choose “Office Account”.
- Review the “Product Information” section.
Integration setup
To set up the integration:
- In AMS+, navigate to the My Account > Email & Calendar > Outlook Email Sync and download the Outlook Email Sync Add-In.
- Close Outlook (if it’s already open and running).
- Run and install the downloaded Add-In file.
- When you reopen Outlook, you’ll see an AgencyBloc tab in the ribbon.
- In AMS+, copy the Add-In key.
- You will find the key on the same page that you downloaded the Add-In file.
- In Outlook, navigate to the Add-In settings and enter your credentials.
- Credentials include your AMS+ username and the Add-In key. Please note, your username is the same as what you use to log in to AMS+.
- Check credentials and save to activate the integration.
- You can now start syncing your Outlook emails to AMS+. Sync individual emails or folders of emails. Visit the Using Outlook Email Sync article to learn how.
Setup troubleshooting
If you successfully ran the downloaded Outlook Email Sync file from AMS+, but one day the Add-In disappears from your Outlook client, there are a few steps you can take to investigate the issue.
First, on your computer, go to Settings > Apps & Features, and check for the AgencyBloc Outlook Sync Add-In.
If the Add-In is listed, it may have been disabled. Follow these instructions to re-enable the Add-In.
If the Add-In is not listed, it may not have been installed properly. Follow these instructions for an alternative installation method.
Re-enable the Add-In
Many things can cause the Add-In to become disabled. Upgrading your Outlook version, anti-virus software, and Windows updates are just a few examples.
To re-enable the Add-In:
- In Outlook, select “File” to open a menu, and select “Options.”
- The Outlook Options menu will open.
- In the Outlook Options menu, select “Add-Ins”.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the “Add-ins” screen until you see a “Manage:” field.
- Make sure “COM Add-ins” is selected, and select the “Go…” button next to it.
- The COM Add-ins window will pop up.
- In the COM Add-Ins window, review the list and look for the AgencyBloc Add-In.
- - If you see it, make sure the checkbox next to it is marked and select the “Ok” button.
- If you don’t see it, you may need to step it up. Follow these instructions for setup.
If you followed these instructions and the Add-In is still not working, please contact the Client Success Team for further assistance.
Alternative setup method
On rare occasions, the Outlook Email Sync Add-In doesn’t install properly. If this happens, try these steps for an alternative installation method. Please note, these steps will only work for the Windows-based desktop versions of Outlook.
- In Outlook, select “File” to open a menu, and select “Options.”
- The Outlook Options menu will open.
- In the Outlook Options menu, select “Add-Ins”.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the “Add-ins” screen until you see a “Manage:” field.
- Make sure “COM Add-ins” is selected, and select the “Go…” button next to it.
- The COM Add-ins window will pop up.
- In the COM Add-Ins window, select “Add…”.
- The Add Add-in file browser will open.
- In the Add Add-in file browser, make sure “All Files” is selected in the dropdown menu next to the “File name” field. Then, select “App Data” in the file browser address bar.
- Select the folder named “Local,” and then the folder named “AgencyBloc, Inc.”
- Select the folder named “AgencyBloc Outlook Sync.” Locate and select the file named “adxloader.dll”. Open this file.
- Once you have done that you will see COM-adds pop up window again, highlight ‘AgencyBlocOutlook2010_2016’, choose ok, and AgencyBloc will now be a tab within your Outlook.
- Go to the Add-In settings and enter your credentials.
- Credentials include your AMS+ username and the Add-In key. Please note, your username is the same as what you use to log in to AMS+.
- Check credentials and save to activate the integration.

Sync settings
Before you start syncing, navigate to the My Account > Email & Calendar > Outlook Email Sync and review your settings. In particular, the ‘Sync as Activity’ settings. When you sync an Outlook email as an activity, it will have a status and due date in AMS+.
You can use the status to track the activity’s progress, and the due date will trigger a follow-up reminder. If the status is 'Complete', the incoming activity won't have a due date. Make sure these settings are configured to match your preferences before syncing.
Also, review your association options. By default, AMS+ will automatically associate synced activities and emails to contact records in your account until you change these settings.
Deactivating integration
If you’re no longer using Outlook Email Sync and you want to deactivate the integration, we recommend uninstalling the Add-In from your Outlook client.
- Close Outlook.
- Go to Start > Settings > Apps & features.
- Locate “AgencyBloc Outlook Sync” in the list.
- Highlight your selection and select ‘Uninstall’.
Common questions
How do I update the Add-In?
You’ll receive notices when updates are available. Please keep your Add-In up-to-date to ensure the best performance.
What happens if I issue a new Add-In key?
If you issue a new key in AMS+, the Add-In will temporarily deactivate. To reactivate, you will need to enter the new key into the Add-In.
Can I sync emails to agents, sales records, carriers, groups, or policies?
No. However, once in AMS+, you can associate emails with agents, carriers, and groups. When associating an email with a group or individual, you will have the option to relate it to a policy. See the Unassociated Activities & Emails article for more details.
