This article explains how to manage an existing Email Marketing campaign, including how to pause, resume, delete, or retire campaigns based on their status.
If you have a disabled campaign, see Disabling and What to do for more information on causes and prevention.
Requirements
- Email Marketing must be activated in your agency's AMS+ account.
- Only the Account Owner can activate it. Learn more.
- You must be logged into AMS+ as an Agency User.
- You must be assigned to a Security Group with the Manage Email Marketing permission.
Pause a campaign
You can pause campaigns that are in a PENDING or ACTIVE status.
- When paused, the campaign stops sending emails and displays a PAUSED status.
After pausing a campaign:
- You can edit campaign details and email content.
- What you can edit depends on when the campaign was paused.
- See How to edit Servicing Email Marketing email campaigns in AMS+ for more information.
Resume a campaign
When you resume a campaign, sending does not start immediately.
- If the campaign was scheduled to send "Now", it resumes after a 10-minute delay.
- If the campaign was paused while emails were sending, it resumes after a 10-minute delay.
Retire a campaign
If a campaign has been scheduled, you can’t delete it, but you can retire it.
Retiring a campaign:
- Stops it from sending emails
- Hides it from campaign lists
- Can’t be undone
You can retire a campaign when it is:
- ACTIVE
- DISABLED
- PAUSED
- PENDING
You can’t retire a campaign when it is:
- DRAFT
- COMPLETED
Note: Before retiring a campaign, check if there are emails you want to reuse. You can add them to your Template Library for later use.
Delete a campaign
You can delete campaigns only when they are in a DRAFT status.
Once a campaign has been scheduled, it can’t be deleted.
To delete a DRAFT campaign:
- Go to the Email Marketing > Servicing > Email Campaigns tab.
- Select the campaign name.
- On the Edit Campaign step, scroll to the bottom of the page, then select the Delete button.
