Overview
Once you feel comfortable creating email campaigns, learn how to manage campaign details in this article. You can pause a campaign to make adjustments, and delete campaign drafts that are no longer needed. Retire a campaign when deleting isn’t an option and you want to hide it. What you can do will depend on the campaign’s status.
If you have a disabled campaign, see the Disabling and What to do article for more information on causes and prevention.

Pausing a campaign
You can pause active and pending campaigns. When paused, the campaign will stop sending any further emails and display a PAUSED status.
Pausing a campaign
If you pause a campaign, you can make edits to the campaign details and email content. Please note, what you can edit will depend on when the campaign was paused. See the Editing Email Campaigns article for more information.
Resuming a campaign
If you resume a campaign that was scheduled to send emails now, it will resume after a 10-minute delay.
If you resume a campaign that was paused while emails were sending, it will resume after a 10-minute delay.
Deleting a campaign
You can only delete campaigns that are in DRAFT status. Once a campaign has been scheduled, it cannot be deleted.
To delete a draft campaign:
- Go to the Saved Campaigns tab, then select the campaign you'd like to delete.
- On the Edit Emails page, scroll down to the area below the email content.
- Select Delete to remove the campaign from the list.
Retiring a campaign
Once a campaign has been scheduled, you can’t delete it, but you can retire it. Retiring a campaign stops it from sending further emails and hides it from your campaign lists. Keep in mind, retiring a campaign is permanent and cannot be undone.
You can retire a campaign if it’s in one of the following statuses:
- ACTIVE
- DISABLED
- PAUSED
- PENDING
You can’t retire a campaign that is in DRAFT or COMPLETED status.
Note: Before retiring a campaign, check to see if there are any emails you want to reuse. If there are, you can add them to saved content to use again later. See the Using Saved Content article for more details.
