Overview
The Commission Actual vs Expected report shows comparisons of commissions your agency expects to receive and the commissions that were actually received for each policy in your account. This article covers the preconfigured standard report and includes a Custom Reporting recipe. You can use the recipe to build your own versions of the Commission Actual vs Expected report.
Note: Only accounts with Commissions+ can access and use AMS+'s commission features. To show expected commission data in this report, at least some of your policies need projection tables set up.

Standard Report details
Using the Commission Actual vs Expected report, you can find policies that brought in commissions within or outside a percentage (%) threshold of the expected commissions. Get a sense of how your policies are performing based on your calculations. Your report download will include information on the policy, policyholder, carrier, commission frequency and premium, servicing agent, and projection table.
Field | Description |
---|---|
Within Expected: | Entering 5% within expected includes policies, where commission received, is 5% plus/minus the expected amount. (Actual is between 95% to 105% of expected) |
Outside Expected: | Entering 5% outside expected includes policies, where commission received, is outside a threshold of 5% plus/minus the expected amount. (Actual is 0 to 95% to 105% and beyond of expected) |
This report has two options - year and monthly. The option you select will affect whether you see a summary of your AvE data or a month by month comparison of your projected commissions versus your actual commissions.
Year option
By using this option, your report output will show the year summary of your AvE data.
Monthly option
By using this option, your report output will show 24 additional columns - 1 column for expected and 1 for actual.
Note: This option will only show AvE projections for the past 12 months (not including the current month).
Custom Reporting recipe
With Custom Reporting, you can access the same data as the Standard Report but you’ll have more flexibility to choose the columns and filters for your report. Below is a recipe to help you get started.
